Official description of the Alumni Denkfabrik:

What does the Alumni Denkfabrik do?

Cultural policy, education and development cooperation play pivotal roles in national transformation processes and the development of civil societies. The Alumni Denkfabrik aims to accompany these processes and contribute to developing ideas and approaches to solving problems in the participating countries as well as current global challenges.

Where do the participants live?

In twelve countries of development cooperation, Germany alumni are presently identifying topics of significance for their country for the Alumni Denkfabrik together with experts. The Goethe-Instituts in Belarus, Bolivia, Georgia, Indonesia, Cameroon, Kenya, Morocco, Peru, South Africa, Lebanon, Thailand and Uzbekistan are participating in the coordination.

In local and regional working groups, the participants cite social problems, discuss proposed solutions and draw up development policy project proposals. The Alumniportal Deutschland additionally offers the working groups the opportunity to share amongst one another and take up ideas from other registered alumni.

Innovative advanced training programmes with the Alumni-Denkfabrik

As part of the Alumni Denkfabrik for Culture, Education and Development, the Goethe-Institut also offers web-based advanced trainings, called “webinars.” These aim to enable the participants to more effectively communicate the problems and approaches to solutions they identify. In seminar units accessible online, experts convey skills in group management, conversation techniques and facilitation. In a live chat group, they discuss the results of the national working groups with all interested participants.
